I have never been one to be at a loss for words, but with so many various topics to cover, it’s challenging to land on one for the ice breaker post! I kept my “about me” section short and sweet, so I think this post will go more in-depth on not only myself, but on what I plan to write about and why I decided to take the plunge and start this whole journey.
Let me introduce myself to those who may read this and not know me or not know a lot about me. My name is Jessica and I am a proud mommy of 2 boys (with another blessing on the way, but we don’t have the gender just yet!) and I have been happily married going on 10 years this June! I grew up the youngest of 3 children and I happen to be the only girl as well, which may have been training me for mothering these boys 🙂 I love to cook and bake and I thoroughly enjoy learning about food from all over the world and trying the variety of foods as well! I have always had a love for writing and have written poetry most of my life. I also enjoy music and I don’t think I could explain how much significance it has held throughout my life. I often explain music with these 3 words, “Music is Voice”. I have a tattoo that reads those 3 words and I believe music gives a voice to people who don’t normally feel they have one, or to people who don’t believe they are heard or maybe even too scared or ashamed to express themselves through their own words. Possibly one of the things I love to do most is to help others. I feel like my purpose in life is to help others, which is one of the driving forces behind starting this blog.
I decided to get more serious about starting this blog during one of my many conversations with my Uncle. He encouraged me to start getting my writing out where more people could see it because he claims I have words of importance to spread to others…we’ll see about that! 😉 He’s been a great supporter and hopefully I can do some good! I plan to blog about many different topics including: faith, anxiety/panic disorders, depression, miscarriage, and life in general. I want to share my stories and experiences with you and continue to be an open book so that all of you and many more will know they are not alone in how they feel. Something I ALWAYS say is that I firmly believe ALL the experiences we have, good and bad, equip us with the special ability to help others through similar struggles and give them the hope they need. If we stay quiet and keep to ourselves, how will anyone ever know they are not alone and that their thoughts and challenges are not solely happening to them. If I only reach one person from all of this, it will be more than worth the time and energy put in!
Thank you in advance to anyone who takes the time out to read any of my blogs! I pray that you’ll take something positive and meaningful away from one, some or even all my posts! Much love and God Bless.
